2 dead as tricycle, pickup truck collide in Paco, Manila
A tricycle driver and his passenger died after the three-wheeled vehicle they were riding in hit a pickup truck along Paz Mendoza Guanzon Street in Paco, Manila on Sunday, Nov. 19.

The Manila Police District-Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit (MPD-MDTEU) identified the fatalities as Apolanio Toyado, 42, the tricycle driver, and his passenger, Joven Braga, 46.
Investigation disclosed that the pickup truck, being driven by Sanny Ayon, was traversing the westbound lane of Paz Mendoza Guanzon Street in Paco, Manila around 1:50 a.m. when the incident occurred.
Upon reaching the front of a Mitsubishi Motors store, the tricycle driven by Toyado suddenly hit the truck's front portion.
According to the authorities, Toyado drove his tricyle against the traffic flow, which resulted in the collision of the two vehicles.
The tricycle driver and his passenger both sustained injuries after falling on the road pavement. Braga died on-the-spot.
The tricycle driver was rushed to Philippine General Hospital but was declared dead at around 3:05 a.m.
The police added that Ronald Betonio, a motorcycle rider also sustained physical injuries when the tricycle also bumped the left portion of his vehicles.
Betonio was immediately taken to the nearest hospital for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, the pickup driver will be subjected to an inquest procedure, police said.
