Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte discussed with local government and village officials the long-term visions for the city during the regular session of the City Development Council (CDC).

The regular session was attended by the 142 newly elected and re-elected city officials, civil society, and concerned departments at the Philippine Social Science Center on Commonwealth Ave. in Brgy. New Era, Quezon City, on Thursday, Nov. 16.
The newly elected barangay captains in the city also took oath as new members of the CDC during the session.

The council has formulated its long-term outward and inward visions for Quezon City.
According to the local government, the outward vision includes the city's aspiration to serve as the Green Lung of Metro Manila, become the knowledge capital of the country, and achieve recognition as a health and wellness center in Southeast Asia.
Meanwhile, the inward vision focuses on empowering QCitizens, fostering an inclusive economy, maintaining a sustainable and livable environment, and upholding good governance in the local government.
The CDC also provided updates on the Community-based Monitoring System, the QC Local Development Investment Program (LIDP), and the 15-minute city concept actively promoted by the city.
The Community-based Monitoring System (CBMS) is a systematic method for gathering, analyzing, and validating information at the local or community level.
The data is used by local and national government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and civil society groups to plan, budget, and implement local development initiatives.
Also present during the session were First District Representative Arjo Atayde, Councilor Freddy Roxas, Councilor Shay Liban, City Planning and Development Department (CPDD) head Architect Pedro Rodriguez, CPDD Acting assistant head Doctor Jose Gomez, Assistant City Administrator (ACA) Alberto Kimpo, and ACA lawyer Rene Grapilon.
