The ninth-seeded Eala took advantage of her experience in beating her lesser-ranked rival, setting up an anticipated duel with fourth seed Anna-Len Friedsam of Germany in this $40,000 International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournament.

Friedman bared her fangs and clipped wildcard bet Amelie Van Impe, 6-4, 6-2.

The other semis pairing pits third seed Oceane Dodin of France and Hanne Vandewinkel of France with the Frenchwoman surviving Belgian Sofia Costoulas’ last-minute attempts, 6-2, 7-5, and Vandewinkel winning by default over Danish topseed Clara Tauson.

Eala and Zeynep Sonmez of Turkey, meanwhile, bowed out of the semifinals at the expense of topseeded pair Ali Collins of Great Britain and Isabelle Haverlag of the Netherlands, 6-2, 7-6 (4).

A victory for Eala and Sonmez could have arranged them a championship duel with British tandem Alicia Barnett and Samantha Sharan, who edged German duo Tayisiya and Yana Morderger, 6-1, 7-6 (2).
