Police said 1,050 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P7.1 million were seized from James Jay Cueva Codilla, 33.
Police said that based on information, Codilla obtained his supply of illegal drugs through an inmate at the Cebu City Jail.
A three-week surveillance was conducted before the suspect was cornered, police said.
Police said the suspect was capable of selling a kilo of shabu per month in various areas in Metro Cebu.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA-7) is checking if there are drug personalities who won in last month’s barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.
Leia Alcantara, information officer of PDEA-7, said there was an initial report that two drug users ran in the BSKE. Fortunately, they lost, added Alcantara.
The PDEA-7 will continue its efforts to clear Central Visayas from illegal drugs, and the anti-illegal drug campaign should start from elected officials, Alcantara emphasized.
Alcantara said further validation will be conducted to determine if there are drug personalities who were able to win in the election.
