DOH reports 194 new Covid-19 infections; fatality rate still at 1.6%
The Department of Health (DOH) reported 194 new Covid-19 infections, contributing to a cumulative total of 4,112,658 cases nationwide.

The latest update from the DOH Covid-19 tracker as of Nov. 17 indicated no new deaths, maintaining the country's fatality rate at 1.6 percent.
Active Covid-19 cases, as per the agency, are currently 3,093, while 4,052,819 individuals have successfully recovered, reflecting an encouraging recovery rate of 98.3 percent.
Concerning the use of intensive care unit (ICU) beds designated for Covid-19 patients, it recorded that 185 beds, or 9.56 percent, of the 1,936 ICU beds that are available are currently occupied.
Non-ICU Covid-19 beds showed a 16.5 percent occupancy rate, with 2,897 beds in use, and of the 1,985 mechanical ventilators available, 99 are actively supporting Covid-19 patients.
The public is still being cautioned not to become complacent in the face of the Covid-19 threat.
The health department stressed the continued importance of adhering to basic health standards, including wearing properly fitting face masks and staying in well-ventilated areas.
It advised that individuals exhibiting Covid-19 symptoms should be isolated promptly.
For added protection, DOH also reminded the public to get their Covid-19 vaccine and booster as soon as possible.
