Cebu has long been known as a lively place filled with historical significance and a hospitable culture. From its stunning landscapes and pristine beaches to its lively celebrations like the Sinulog Festival, there’s always something about the island that marks it as a top-notch destination. But none more so than its wide range of culinary offerings, a number of which has just gathered at The Mall at Nustar. Here is a guide to all the new worldwide cuisines available for all Cebuanos and visitors to enjoy.

Café Laguna
Bringing the influence of Laguna’s cuisine over to Cebu, expect to enjoy Filipino favorites like crispy crablets, fried kangkong, kare-kare, and sinigang over at Café Laguna. This branch at Nustar serves exclusive offerings such as aligue fried rice, pangat na salmon, and a serving of cochinillo enough to feed the whole family or barkada. For dessert, have a go with their langcabcab, a generous serving of langka ice cream topped with a crisp cassava wafer and sweet latik.

Abaca Baking Company
If you’re craving a carb-tastic time, then Abaca Baking Company is the place for you. Start your day right with a serving of the waffles, large enough to keep you energized throughout the day. The flatbreads are perfectly matched with the melty goodness of baked penne. If you’re craving something heavier, try out the burgers, or for the chicken lovers, Jake’s chicken sandwich. Or if you’re just looking for a light snack, the stuffed croissants are magnifique. Perhaps the most memorable offering from the menu though is the chocolate chip cookies. When served warm, its crisp exterior and light hints of salt add an exciting start before reaching the soft and gooey goodness within.

Kazuwa Prime
Ever heard of dinner and a show? Enjoy premium A5 Wagyu prepared through a teppanyaki show as chefs serve each dish in a playful manner. Seafood options like Japanese oysters and fresh Norwegian salmon are also available. Each serving of sushi also comes with fresh wasabi imported from Japan. For those who prefer something more intimate can also have a seat at one of the Japanese-themed rooms with tatami seating for a more authentic experience. There’s also a nice outdoor dining spot with a fabulous view of the city.

Tom N Toms Coffee
Coming from the busy streets of Seoul, South Korea, Tom N Toms Coffee now finds itself at a cozy spot at The Mall at Nustar. There’s a plethora of hot and cold drinks to choose from to jumpstart your day. You can also pair your coffee or milk tea with a serving of freshly baked pretzels and pastries.

Taiwan Shabu-Shabu
Looking for a hot serving of hot pot? Look no further than Taiwan Shabu-Shabu! Here, only the freshest and top-quality ingredients from broth, vegetables, and proteins to seafood are served. It offers diners the option to customize meals to their preference, picking out which meats and sauces to put in their hot pot, giving each guest a unique dining experience.

Koshima by Nonki
Koshima directly translates to “small island,” whereas Nonki means “carefree.” It’s a fitting name for a Japanese restaurant that takes diners to a new Zen experience. Try out your favorite Japanese staples including sushi, tempura, and sashimi alongside unique menu items, such as Kurobuta tonkatsu, miso katsu, Wagyu takiniku, Wagyu Sukiyaki, and Wagyu Aburi Sushi. For those looking for a warm dish to cozy yourself up during the ‘ber months, we recommend trying the Wagyu shabu-shabu paired with some saké.

Barcino
Looking for a familiar taste? Barcino has made waves in Manila as one of the go-to restaurants for those craving top-tier tapas and paella dishes. Led by Spanish-native executive chef Nicolas Diaz, it offers a number of Northern Spanish delights to satisfy your tastebuds. It’s best to wash it all down with a bottle of Barcino’s famous sangria.
