Almost P500,000 shabu seized from man, nephew

BACOLOD CITY – The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) arrested a man and his nephew in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tangub here on Saturday, November 18.

Police Capt. Joven Mogato, CDEU head, identified the suspects as Edmond Pahila, 57, and his nephew Paolo Montebon, 31, residents of Barangay Tangub.

Suspects yielded 72 grams of suspected shabu worth P489,600.

Mogato said they subjected the suspects to a three-week monitoring after receiving reports from the community about their illegal activities.

He said that Pahila was arrested for illegal possession of dangerous drugs and was released from jail after serving his sentence five years ago.

Mogato said that Montebon was Pahila’s runner as he would transact illegal drugs with their customers.

Also recovered from them were the P1,000 marked money and P300.

Both are high-value individuals, police said.
