9 NPA rebels surrender in Caraga

BUTUAN CITY – Nine New People’s Army (NPA) surrendered to the Police Regional Office-13 (PRO-13) on Thursday, November 16.

PRO-13 identified the surrenderers as Roel, 27, team leader of Squad Uno, Platoon Compaq; Embog, 46, squad leader of Squad Dos, Local Platoon, Guerilla Front 88, Sub-Regional Committee (SRC) 3, North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCRMC);

Bravo, 46, and Raffy, 60, elements of Squad Dos, Local Platoon, Guerilla Front 88, SRC 3, NCRMC; alias Rexon, 49, member of Dismantled Guerilla Front (DGF) 4-A, NCRMC;

Jacko, 20, medic; and Isa, 48, members of Guerilla Front 30, Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee (NEMRC); Idol, 21, member of SYP Platoon under Guerilla Front 19-A, SRC Westland, NEMRC; and Arnel, 33, member of SYP Kingdom DGF 4-A, NCMRC.

They surrendered two shotguns, 14 bullets, one rifle grenade, and one M61 hand grenade.

"To those who have left the armed struggle and chose the path towards peace, we extend our sincerest welcome,” PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Kirby John B. Kraft said.

“You have made the right decision to rebuild your future and reintegrate into our community.”
