'We're back in the book space': National Book Store president announces during book fair

The 'Sulit Reads Christmas Book Fair,' National Book Store's biggest book sale event of the year, kicks off today.

Attention bookworms! This is not a drill: National Book Store (NBS) has officially opened its "Reads Christmas Book Fair" at Quantum Skyview, Gateway Mall 2 in Cubao, Quezon City.

Dubbed as the NBS’ biggest book sale of the year, this is surely a must-visit shopping activity this weekend. With over three thousand titles up for grabs, the “Sulit Reads Christmas Book Fair” is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. until Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023.

Here, shoppers can grab books for as low as P10, enjoy the buy-1-take-1 deals, get their adrenaline pumping in the flash sales, and enjoy whole-day shopping with up to 80 percent off discounts.

“We have really big discounts to new titles and regular titles. And we have a section for greatly low prices starting at P99 with great selection,” Adrian Ramos, president, National Book Store told Manila Bulletin Lifestyle in an interview last Friday, Nov. 17, 2023. “It’s our mission naman talaga to make reading as affordable as possible for every Filipino. This is really our showcase book event this year and also a way to let all the National Book Store fans know that we’re really back in the book space.”

On top of great shopping finds and promos, there are also book signings and launch events. Some of the authors who will have their respective events are Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach for her book “Queen of the Universe,” Mae Coyiuto for “Chloe and the Kaishao Boys,” Chef Tatung Sarthou, and acclaimed historian Ambeth Ocampo. "Mompreneur" Neri Miranda is also launching her first book, “Wais na Misis: The Wise Homemaker,” with a special performance by her husband Chito Miranda of Parokya ni Edgar.

For those who can’t make it to Cubao, don’t fret. You can also enjoy the Sulit Christmas Sale, with up to 30 percent off on participating books, school, and office supplies, and an exciting selection of P99 books and P99 gifts in NBS branches nationwide. It's one good way to find gifts for the holiday season.
