PH Red Cross responds to students affected by 6.8-magnitude quake
The Philippine Red Cross (PRC)-Sarangani Province Chapter immediately responded to students who collapsed due to the 6.8 magnitude earthquake in the southern Philippines on Friday, Nov. 17.

The PRC said it sent its emergency medical services (EMS) personnel to the Red Cross 143 volunteers and assets were deployed to provide EMS to affected students in Holy Trinity Junior High Golden State College and other affected communities.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the earthquake, which struck at 4:14 p.m., had its epicenter 34 kilometers (km) northwest of Sarangani Island Sarangani town in the province of Davao Occidental.
It was initially recorded as a 7.2-magnitude earthquake but later revised to a 6.8-magnitude quake.

PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Richard "Dick" Gordon said that the organization is committed to providing support to those affected by the earthquake.
"We are mobilizing our resources to ensure that we can provide the necessary assistance to those who need it most," Gordon said.
"In this way, we can immediately provide humanitarian assistance to those affected," Gordon added.
