Michelle Dee tells Miss Universe fans: 'Nakakataba ng puso kayo'

Hours before the National Costume Show, Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee thanked her fans for supporting her during the preliminary competition of the prestigious pageant last Thursday, Nov. 16.
"Nakakataba ng puso kayo! I feel so much love and I couldn’t be any more grateful to everyone who watched yesterday. Nasa exciting part na talaga tayo!!!" wrote Michelle on Instagram as she uploaded photos from the preliminary show.
During the preliminary competition, Michelle used Filipinas in her introduction. This is the first time a Filipino candidate in the Miss Universe Competition used Filipinas instead of Philippines.

While its deep green is a nod to her advocacy of autism awareness, it is also one to her mother #MelanieMarquez, whose winning gown for Miss International 1979 was the same shade. Michelle tells Vogue Philippines, "It pays homage to a lot of aspects of me."
With its edge and sharp tailoring, the dress doesn't compromise on her idiosyncratic style. "The homage is just the color," Bumgarner says. "It's not necessarily the look, 'cause the look is still very much inspired by Michelle's personality, which is someone who's strong and a woman who really knows what she wants."
