Speaker Martin Romualdez doesn't have a single bad thing to say about former president Rodrigo Duterte despite the latter’s attacks against him and the House of Representatives these past few weeks.
Not only that, but Romualdez said ex-president Duterte should stick around and continue to give his inputs.
"I also wish to acknowledge the valuable contributions of our former president, Rodrigo Roa Duterte, and hope he continues to lend his support and expertise," the House leader and Leyte 1st district congressman said in a statement Thursday, Nov. 17 that was made in response to Duterte’s recent statements.
"His continued involvement is crucial as we strive to overcome the challenges we face. Our collective efforts are vital for the progress and prosperity of the Philippines," Romualdez said of Duterte.
Duterte, 78, is somewhat back in public consciousness thanks to a new weekly television program where he could freely share his thoughts on various topics.

Romualdez, known for being a prim and proper statesman, said last week that he hopes his ties with the Dutertes would improve.
The elder Duterte served as president from 2016 to 2022.
