The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 173 new Covid-19 infections on Thursday, Nov. 16, bringing the country’s total number of cases to 4,112, 464.

The DOH Covid-19 tracker, however, showed no additional Covid-19-related deaths, maintaining the fatality rate at 1.6 percent.
The country has 3,102 active Covid-19 cases, as per the DOH.
In addition, the data showed that 4,051,351 individuals had successfully fought the virus, with 95 additional recoveries showing a 98.3 percent recovery rate.
Regarding the use of intensive care unit (ICU) beds designated for Covid-19 patients, it was reported that 183 beds, or 9.25 percent, of the 1,979 ICU beds that are available are currently occupied.
The DOH also said that 2,929, or 16.72 percent, of the 17,516 available non-ICU Covid-19 beds were in use, and of the 2,010 mechanical ventilators, 99 were currently being used by Covid-19 patients.
The public is still being cautioned not to become complacent in the face of the Covid-19 threat.
The DOH also emphasized the importance of adhering to basic health standards, such as wearing properly fitting face masks and remaining in well-ventilated areas.
It advised that individuals exhibiting Covid-19 symptoms should be isolated promptly.
For added protection, DOH also reminded the public to get their Covid-19 vaccine and booster as soon as possible.
