TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – African Swine Fever cases have been recorded in six towns in this province this month.
Dr. Myka Ponce, Provincial Veterinary Office (PVET) Veterinarian II, said areas with ASF cases were Barangays Angaoang and Santo Tomas, Tuao; Bauan West, Solana; Plaza, Aparri; Iringan, Allacapan; Namuccayan, Santo Nino; and Catugan and Malanao in Lal-lo.
She said 16 pigs affected by ASF have been culled and buried.
Checkpoint is strictly being implemented in affected areas.
PVET is collecting blood of pigs in neighboring areas with recorded ASF cases.
