BUTUAN CITY – One-hundred eighty-one police recruits took their oath as new members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in a ceremony at the Police Regional Office-13 headquarters here on Thursday afternoon, November 16.

One-thousand six-hundred applied but only 181 – 162 males and 19 females – hurled the Police Regional Office-13's stringent screening process under the 2023 Patrolman and Patrolwoman Attrition Recruitment Program.
The newly appointed police non-commissioned officers will receive a basic monthly salary of P29,660 aside from allowances and after oath-taking were immediately brought to the Regional Training Center in Lipata, Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.
During the ceremony, members of the Regional Screening Committee led by the PRO-13 deputy regional director for administration, Police Col. Eleazar P. Matta, chairperson, received plaques of appreciation for their efforts in proficiently supervising the selection process.
PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Kirby John B. Kraft encouraged the families of the police recruits to give their full moral support and be there for them.
“Your oath is a solemn pledge to serve and protect the people at all costs,” Kraft said.
“Much is expected from you," he said. “Never fail your government and your family."
