CEBU CITY – Police will leave no stone unturned to ensure the arrest of the two drug suspects who killed a policeman in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Kinasang-an here on Wednesday, November 15.

Police Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) chief, instructed all police units not to let up the manhunt operation against Atong Rafols and Ramil Salazar.
Rafols fatally shot Police Corporal Ryan Languio Baculi who acted as a poseur-buyer during the anti-illegal drug operation.
“We know that we will soon attain justice and we assure the public that the PRO-7 will not stop until we bring these two criminals to justice,” said Police Lt. Col. Gerard Ace Pelare, spokesperson of Aberin.
Pelare assured that necessary benefits will be given to the family of the slain policeman.
He said the relentless campaign against illegal drugs will continue despite the tragic incident.
“This will not discourage us from performing our duty. The fight against illegal drugs will continue,” said Pelare.
The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), upon the instruction of chief Police Col. Ireneo Dalogdog, is actively involved in the manhunt operation.
“We are doing our best to provide assistance in any way, in whatever form. We also encourage the public and our force multipliers to provide us information that would lead to the arrest of the suspects. Report to us immediately because time is very essential,” said Police Lt. Col. Janette Rafter, CCPO deputy director for operations.
It was learned that Rafols was still a minor when he was committed to “Operation: Second Chance” after he was charged with murder. He was transferred to the Cebu City Jail Male Dormitory when he turned 18.
Rafols has a standing arrest warrant for murder.
