The Flying Titans bucked an opening set hiccup before pouncing on their foes to register a 6-1 win-loss record and tie with Chery Tiggo at second place.
High-flying Sisi Rondina sizzled with a team-high 17 points that including 16 kills in powering the Flying Titans, whose victory also put them half a game behind league-leading Creamline Cool Smashers (6-0).
Kat Tolentino also anchored Choco Mucho with 13 points built on 10 attacks, one block and two aces, even as Isa Molde was a force to reckon with after tallying 10 points.
The Flying Titans took advantage of the Angels’ erratic plays by claiming 28 points off the latter’s errors, which served critical in the one hour, 46 minute match.
They also banked on their defense in slowing down Petro Gazz’s spikers spearheaded by Grethcel Soltones, Jonah Sabete and Aiza Pontillas.
Though the Angels torched the attack line with 54 kills including a combined 31 hits from Sabete and Soltones, it was not enough to end their misfortunes.
Soltones finished with 19 points, while Sabete and Pontillas scored 18 and 12 in a losing effort.
Petro Gazz sprawled to its fourth straight loss after a 4-0 start, tying with F2 Logistics in the middle standings.
