The City Legal Enforcement Team, accompanied by personnel of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), padlocked these establishments for violating Section 65, Article 20 of City Ordinance (CO) 565 or the Revised Revenue Code of Bacolod City, Rey Demisana, enforcement team leader, said.
Most of these establishments were restobars and refreshment stands on Arceo Drive in the Panaad area.
In September, the Bacolod Permits and License Division Office (BPLO) conducted an inspection and warned 25 business establishments in the area for operating without permits.
Demisana said the implementation of the closure order was based on the memorandum order issued by Romeo Carlos Ting Jr., head of the City Legal Office (CLO), as per recommendation of the BPLO.
Demisana said that business owners or their staff told the enforcement team that their business permits are already being processed. But he maintained that they need to implement the closure order pursuant to the advice of the CLO.
He appealed to the business owners to complete the requirements to enable them to re-open their businesses.
