Therma Mobile donates eye equipment to Navotas Hospital

Aboitiz Power Corporation (AboitizPower) subsidiary Therma Mobile, Inc. (TMO) and the Aboitiz Foundation Inc. recently donated new tools and instruments to the Navotas City Hospital to improve the services of their eye center. Receiving the equipment  was Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco during an event that was also attended by Navotas City Vice Mayor Tito Sanchez, city councilors, and hospital officials.

Among the donations the hospital received was a  tonometer which tests the pressure inside the eyes and is used in screening for glaucoma. The local hospital also received a slit lamp, which is used in examining the interior of the eyes and helps in identifying eye diseases. The additional equipment will be beneficial to Navoteños as eye check-ups can now be done in Navotas City Hospital, instead of having it in other hospitals or private clinics.

"We are thankful for this donation from TMO, and we thank them for being one of our constant  partners in the development of our city," said Mayor Tiangco. "This will help us provide better services to our constituents."

"These donations are of big help to our hospital," said Navotas City hospital director Dr. Spica Mendoza-Acoba. "With these new equipment, we will be able to improve the level of care we are giving to our patients."

As Navotas City Hospital is on its way to become a Level 2 hospital, the continuous upgrade and development of its services will ensure that it is meeting the primary healthcare needs of the community. 

Aboitiz Power's Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) head Shireen Prince expressed gratitude for the opportunity to help enhance the hospital's services and the health of Navoteños.

"Beyond our aim to deliver reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy, we want to contribute more to our host communities through corporate social responsibility projects that promote health and well being," she said.
