SK kagawad dies after being electrocuted on health center rooftop

BACOLOD CITY – A Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) councilor died after he was electrocuted on the rooftop of the health center in Barangay Bato Proper, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, November 14.

Police identified the victim as Mark Perolino, 25, of Barangay Bato.

Investigation said the victim was conducting electrical maintenance work on the rooftop of the barangay health center beside the barangay hall when he touched a live wire.

Police Executive Master Sgt. Loreto Perono, deputy chief of the Hinigaran Municipal Police Station, said the victim fell to the ground.

Perolino sustained burns and was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

Linemen of a power utility firm found out that there was an illegal electrical connection near the health center.

The Barangay Bato SK council, in a Facebook post, condoled with the family of Perolino. “To the family, the SK council of Barangay Bato extends our heartfelt sympathy. We pray that God gives you strength and comfort during this difficult time,” it said.
