ILOILO CITY – The sole electricity distributor of this city, MORE Electric and Power Corp. (MORE Power), is set to reduce its consumer rate by P2.76 per kilowatt-hour for the billing period November 18 to December 14.

“This is an early (Christmas) gift to consumers,” said Engr. Ralph Dorilag, sourcing energy manager of MORE Power.
From the current rate of P10.55 per kWh, consumers will pay less than P8 per kWh in the next billing cycle.
Each of the 90,000 households using around 300 kWh would save P800.
This impending drop in electricity rate is the highest for the year.
The refund implemented by MORE Power is based on a resolution of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) in 2022 that “revised rules on automatic cost adjustment throw-up mechanism and corresponding confirmation process for distribution utilities.”
Dorilag explained that the one-time refund is accumulated from the pass-through charges made from January to September 2023.
MORE Power will charge its regular rate by December 15.
While power supply rates in the global market remain unpredictable, MORE Power assured that it will continue to find cheaper power source for consumers.
