Jane de Leon: 'Don't believe everything you see on social media'

Jane de Leon dispensed useful advice to fans recently regarding social media.

She told us, "Don’t believe everything you see on social media, kasi hindi man ninyo alam ine-edit yan."

The actress was prompted to say so following the circulation of a video that shows her seemingly ignoring fans at a movie premiere.

She insisted the video didn't tell the whole story.

"I saw that (video). Hindi ‘yun ‘yung full na nangyari," she said.

Jane maintained, "Hindi ko po ini-snob ang mga fans. Lumapit ako sa kanila. Nakihalubilo ako, nakipag-interact..."

She'd rather not discuss the motive of those who uploaded the edited video on social media but admitted, "Nakaka-sad lang..."

She is thankful that some fans defended her.

"That’s why sobrang na-appreciate ko how they protect me and kung paano nila ako mahalin. Alam kong alam nila ang tunay na istorya at hindi ko na kailangang i-defend ang sarili ko.”
