Boy, 4, killed by truck in Negros

BACOLOD CITY – A four-year-old boy died after he was run over by a truck in Barangay Camalobalo, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, November 14.

Police withheld the name of the victim, a resident of Barangay Calapi Proper.

Police Executive Master Sgt. Loreto Perono, deputy chief of the Hinigaran Municipal Police Station, said the victim was sideswiped by the truck loaded with bottles of liquor while he was playing with other children on the roadside. 

He was run over by the right rear tire of the vehicle, Perono added. The victim was declared dead in a hospital. 

Perono said the truck driver was released from police custody on Wednesday, November 15, following an initial settlement with the victim’s family.
