Rookie Precious Momowei will be sidelined in University of the East’s must-win match against defending champion Ateneo on Wednesday, Nov. 15, after being slapped with a one-game suspension.
The suspension came as the talented Senegalese was found to have committed his second unsportsmanlike foul in the UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball tournament.

Momowei was called for the foul at the 6:43 mark of the second quarter during the Red Warriors’ match against the De La Salle Green Archers last Sunday.
His first unsportsmanlike foul occurred in the first round on Oct. 15, 2023, in UE’s game against Adamson which took place with 7:38 left in the match.
The 6-foot-9 freshman was averaging 11.5 points, 14.4 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game.
As a direct consequence of his actions, the Rookie of the Year frontrunner is now regarded as ineligible for any post-season award.
Last season, NU Bulldogs’ Kean Baclaan was also disqualified from the same individual award following his two unsportsmanlike fouls in the elimination round.
Baclaan’s disqualification allowed now MVP frontrunner Kevin Quiambao of La Salle to win the award.
