Phivolcs observes increased volcanic quakes in Taal in past 24 hours
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Tuesday, Nov. 14 said increased seismic activity, from 45 to 79 volcanic tremor events—with a duration of two to seven minutes—were observed over Taal Volcano.

Phivolcs also said the sulfur dioxide (SO2) emission had an average of 10,539 tons per day as of Nov. 13.
It also observed a "moderate" emission of plume at 900 meters high before drifting southwest.
Taal Volcano remains under Alert Level 1, and the public was still warned of hazards from steam-driven or phreatic or gas-driven explosions, volcanic earthquakes, minor ashfall and lethal accumulations or expulsions of volcanic gas.
Entry into Taal Volcano Island, a permanent danger zone, is strictly prohibited.
