LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – Classes were suspended in some areas in the Bicol region on Tuesday, November 14, due to heavy rain from the shear line.
The Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office (APSEMO) issued the suspension on Monday night.
Mayor Geraldine Rosal here suspended classes on all levels until lifted. She advised the local disaster risk reduction and management councils (DRRMCs) to monitor their areas for possible flooding, landslides, and even lahar flows.
The towns of Santo Domingo and Daraga suspended classes on all levels while private schools in Libon also cancelled.
In Tabaco City, only pre-kinder to senior high school classes were suspended.
Mayor Nelson Legacion of Naga City in Camarines Sur also suspend classes in pre-school to senior high school.
Gov. Ricarte Padilla of Camarines Norte on Tuesday morning said that classes on all levels are suspended until lifted.
