Abandoned newborn found by kid in Silang, Cavite

CAVITE – An abandoned newborn baby was found in Barangay San Miguel II in Silang.

In a Facebook post on Monday, Nov. 13, Mayor Kevin Anarna says the baby was found by a boy playing in the area where the infant was left.

“Nakita ito ng isang bata na umano'y naghahanap lamang ng gagamba nang makarinig sya ng batang umiiyak (The baby was seen by a boy who was reportedly looking for spiders when he heard the baby cry),” Anarna wrote.

“Dito n'ya natagpuan ang batang nakabalot sa itim na jacket na meron pang umbilical cord (It was then that he found the baby with an umbilical cord still attached, wrapped in a black jacket).”

The baby was rescued and turned over to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office.

The local government unit, meanwhile, recognized and thanked the boy who found the infant.
