Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna said the city government began releasing bonus and cash gifts for city's regular employees on Monday, Nov. 13.

In her short message during a flag-raising ceremony on Monday, Lacuna-Pangan commended the City Treasurer Jasmin Talegon for assuring that the city employees will get their benefits on time.

"Magpasalamat tayo sa maagap at on time na pagbibigay ng kaligayahan sa lahat ng empleyado ng lungsod ng Maynila.  Alam n'yo po, ang inyong pamahalaan ay talagang nagsisikap na maging masinop sa pondo ng ating lungsod (Let's be thankful for prompt and on time giving benefits to all the employees of the city of Manila. You know, your government is really trying to be prudent with our city's funds)," she said.

"Dahil po sa ating pagsisinop, kung mapapansin ninyo, lagi po tayong on time sa mga benepisyo di lamang ng mga senior citizens, PWDs, solo parents, mga mag-aaral ng UdM, PLM at Grade 12 students at siyempre, pati na sa sarili nating tahanan - ang mga emplyedo ng lungsod ng Maynila (Because of our diligence, if you notice, we are always on time with the benefits not only for senior citizens, PWDs, single parents, UdM students, PLM and Grade 12 students and of course, also for our own home- the employees of the city of Manila)," she added.

Meanwhile, the lady mayor invited the public, especially the officials and employees of the Manila City Hall to join this month’s kick-off activities in line with the Christmas celebration.

She also announced that the giant Christmas tree will have its lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, at the Kartilya ng Katipunan behind the Bonifacio Shrine beside the Manila City Hall.
