'The Marvels' with Park Seo-jun tops weekend box office in South Korea

The film “The Marvels” that includes actor Park Seo-jun has topped the weekly box office in South Korea.

“The Marvels” was released in South Korea on Nov. 8, selling 91,538 tickets and grossing $681,510 on opening day, according to the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), which tracks box office receipts.

Since its opening up to Nov. 12, “The Marvels” is the No. 1 film in South Korea based on total daily admissions.

The film dominated the weekend box office in South Korea from Nov. 10 to 12. “The Marvels” garnered 304,538 in total admissions and earned $2.36 million during the three-day period to emerge as No. 1.

Japan’s “The Boy and the Heron” placed second with 151,614 tickets sold and gross of $1.15 million.

Since its opening in South Korea, “The Marvels” has sold 446,940 tickets and grossed $3.42 million as of Nov. 12.

“The Marvels” stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Zawe Ashton, Gary Lewis, Korean actor Park Seo-Jun, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, and Samuel L. Jackson. Park Seo-jun plays the role of Prince Yan.
