SM Investments Corporation (SM Investments) was lauded once again as one of the “World’s Best Employers” for the fourth time by global media firm Forbes.
The World’s Best Employers 2023 list, in partnership with market research firm Statista, was made to determine the companies that “offer exciting work and a positive environment” according to survey responses from over 170,000 employees of multinational companies and institutions in more than 50 countries.
Forbes said that the respondents of their survey were asked to rate their employers based on “talent development, remote working options, parental leave benefits, diversity, work-life balance and pride in the product or services the company offers,” along with whether employees would recommend the companies to their family or friends.
SM President and CEO Frederic C. DyBuncio said that “looking after the overall wellness of our employees is imperative as they are the lifeblood of our organization.”
“Anchored on our founder’s values, we continue to nurture a positive company culture, providing purposeful work and equal growth opportunities for our people,” he said.
Previously, five companies from the SM Group namely SM Prime Holdings Inc., SM Development Corporation (SMDC), SM Supermalls, SM Retail Inc. and SM Markets were also included in the “Philippines’ Best Employers” list by the Philippine Daily Inquirer and Statista.
SM Prime President Jeffrey C. Lim, SM Supermalls President Steven T. Tan, and SMDC President Jose Mari H. Banzon emphasized that their “valuable human resources” are the core and main driving forces of their businesses.
“By fostering a workplace rooted in fairness and integrity in SM Prime, we continuously create a positive, transparent and creative environment,” said Lim.
“We set a standard of excellence that defines our journey forward by fostering a workplace culture that champions collaboration, service and innovation,” said Tan.
“This recognition is a tribute to our outstanding team and SMDC will continue to foster a thriving environment for our employees, where their talents and aspirations are not just valued but celebrated,” Banzon remarked.
SM Supermarket President Jojo R. Tagbo added that the award is “an affirmation that a content and motivated team is the key to providing a shopping experience that is second to none.”
