P442,000 shabu seized in Sorsogon drug bust

LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – Police arrested a drug pusher and seized suspected shabu worth P442,000 in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Cota na Daco in Gubat, Sorsogon on Saturday, November 11.

Police Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, Police Regional Office-5 spokesperson, identified the suspect as Arnel, a high-value individual.

Suspect was arrested after he sold 65 grams of shabu to a police poseur-buyer.

Arnel and pieces of evidence were taken to the Gubat police station for proper disposition. A case for violation of Republic Act A 9165 will be filed against the suspect.

The PRO-5 credited the Buhay Ingatan, Droga ay Ayawan program for the arrest of the suspect.

“Recognizing the importance of rehabilitation, PRO-5 integrates comprehensive efforts to guide violators toward a path of positive transformation through the BIDA (Buhay Ingatan, Droga ay Ayawan) program. This approach is not just about apprehension but also about facilitating a better way of life for those ensnared by the clutches of drug abuse,” Calubaquib said.

By actively engaging with the public, PRO-5 aims to raise awareness about the perils of illegal drugs, emphasizing the crucial role of collaborative efforts in bringing about a drug-free and orderly community," Calubaquib added.
