P42-M illegal drugs destroyed in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY â€“ The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-9 destroyed illegal drugs valued at more than P42 million here on Monday, November 13.

They consisted of 6,232 grams of shabu worth P6,800 per gram with a total street value of P42.3 million and 538 grams of marijuana worth P120 per gram or a total of P64,613.18.

They were destroyed through thermal destruction, a method which employs heat of up to 800 degrees Celsius, in a local canning facility.

The activity was witnessed by the Zamboanga City government, Philippine National Police, Department of Justice, barangays, civic groups, and other stakeholders.

The last destruction activity was held on March 9, 2022. The PDEA has been conducting this since 2014.
