Med tech student shot in Tuguegarao

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – A third-year medical technology student was shot in the parking lot of the Saint Paul University Philippines here on Monday afternoon, November 13.

Police identified the victim as Althea Vivien Mendoza, a resident of Ilagan City, Isabela.

Investigation said a school security guard and library staff noticed the victim shouting for help inside a parked car.

They saw the suspect, Kristian Rafael Ramos, also a third year Saint Paul University Philippines medical technology student, inside the vehicle physically assaulting the victim.

Mendoza alighted from the vehicle with the suspect following moments later armed with a gun.

The two witnesses ran away and the suspect shot the victim. Ramos fled on board the car.

Mendoza was taken to the Cagayan United Medical Doctors Hospital here. Follow-up probe is ongoing.
