FDA warns public vs health risks posed by 8 unregistered food products
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning to the public on Tuesday, Nov. 14, regarding the purchase and use of eight unregistered food products that have not been evaluated by the agency.

The unregistered food products, which the FDA deemed "unsafe," were "Konu Cone Snacks Cookies & Cream,” “Zestar Bubblegum with Tattoo,” “Gourmet Healthy Organic White Quinoa,” “Gourmet Healthy Organic Black Chia Seeds,” “Golden Insu Product in Green Packaging With Fruits-Like Image (In Foreign Language),” “Sioan Gintong Araw Koffee Maize (Roasted White Corn With Mangosteen And Moringa Powder),” “Big Boy Chow Special Pancit Canton Chinese Style,” and “Lee Super Plaza Himalayan Pink Salt.”
The FDA determined through online monitoring and post-marketing surveillance that these food products lack proper registration and corresponding Certificate of Product Registration (CPR).

Republic Act No. 9711, also known as the Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009, states that the manufacture, importation, exportation, sale, advertising, or distribution of health products without proper authorization is prohibited.
As these food products have not undergone evaluation, the FDA cannot guarantee their quality and safety.
The FDA also cautioned establishments against distributing, advertising, or selling these "violative food products" until they acquire the necessary Product Notification Certificate.
