Farmer punched, stabbed dead by in-law, neighbor

TIAONG, Quezon – A 34-year-old farmer was punched and stabbed to death by his brother-in-law and neighbor in Barangay Tamisian, this municipality, on Sunday afternoon, November 12.

Police identified the victim as Rogelio Cueno.

Noriel, 34, a farmer and the victim’s brother-in-law, invited Cueno to a drinking spree at the house of their neighbor.

Cueno refused, irritating the suspect who punched the victim, resulting in a commotion that roused the other suspect, Wilson, 39, also a farmer, from sleep.

Wilson chased the victim with a knife and stabbed him repeatedly in the body.

Suspects fled and took the knife along with them and the victim was taken by his wife to the hospital where he was declared dead.

Police said the victim and the suspects had a personal grudge and they are now the subject of a manhunt.

Suspects face homicide charges, police said.
