995 pieces of Ecstasy tablets declared as vitamins, supplements seized at NAIA
Agents of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) have intercepted around P1.7 million worth of illegal drugs inside a warehouse of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
BOC-NAIA District Collector Yasmin Obillos-Mapa said the illegal drugs were declared as vitamins, supplements, baby and body wash.
During the examination on Nov. 9, BOC agents found 995 pieces of dark gray tablets and broken tablets of Ecstasy.
Mapa said both the shipper and consignee are currently undergoing investigation and case build-up for possible prosecution for violations of RA 9165 and RA 10863, or the Customs Modernization Act (CMTA).
