Parts of Luzon to expect rains due to shear line, 'amihan'
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday, Nov. 12, said the shear line affects Central Luzon while the northeast monsoon or 'amihan' prevails in Northern Luzon.

PAGASA said Aurora, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, and Camarines Norte will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the shear line---an area where the cold northeasterly winds and warm easterlies converge.
The public is warned of possible flash floods or landslides in high-risk areas due to scattered light to moderate up to heavy rains.
In Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), and Cagayan Valley, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will be felt due to northeast monsoon or "amihan."
PAGASA also said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.
The public was also advised to be vigilant from possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, weather specialist Obet Badrina said PAGASA still monitors the Low Pressure Area (LPA) outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) at 2,045 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao.
Badrina said the LPA may enter PAR in the following days.
