NPA leader nabbed in Iloilo City

ILOILO CITY – The Regional Intelligence Division (RID) of the Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 arrested a New People’s Army (NPA) leader in the City Proper District here on November 9.

The suspect was identified as Jonathan “Ka Bambie” Emolaga, the vice commanding officer of the NPA Komiteng Rehiyon-Panay.

Emolaga faces attempted murder and illegal possession of explosives cases and was arrested via warrants issued by Judges Nelson Bartolome and Irene Banzuelo-Didulo of the Regional Trial Court (RTC- Branch 67) in Guimbal, Iloilo dated September 2016 and September 2021, respectively.

The suspect also has separate warrants issued by Judge Kathryn Rose Hitalia-Baliatan of the Municipal Trial Court in Miag-ao, Iloilo last June and in Igbaras and Tubungan, Iloilo.
