In a letter signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin dated Nov. 7, the Office of the President (OP) announced Lopez’s nomination as chairman of the government’s reclamation agency.
“Please be informed that the President has approved the nomination of Mr. Lopez as Chairman, PRA,” Bersamin’s letter read.
Just last Friday, Malacañang, through the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), announced the appointment of Lopez as PRA’s board member.
In the same letter, Bersamin said Lopez will serve the “unexpired term of office that began on 01 July 1 2023 and will end on 30 June 30 2024,” as substitute for Henry A. Robinson Jr.
President Marcos has appointed Cesar S. Siador Jr. as general manager and chief executive officer of PRA.
Siador was also designated as a board member of the agency, along with former Quezon City Rep. Anthony Peter D. Crisologo and Lopez.
The PRA is a government-owned and controlled corporation (GOCC) tasked with exclusive power to regulate and approve all reclamation projects in the country.
It is a development agency that has “created assets for the government by converting reclaimed lands into valuable and income-generating real estate properties.“
"Kindly furnish the appointee with his appointment letter and notify Mr. Lopez of his nomination as Chairman within seven (7) days from receipt hereof,” Bersamin also said.
