With the win, the Blue Eagles temporarily stayed ahead of the Soaring Falcons with a 6-6 tally in the standings and boosted their shot for the last Final Four seat.

Sean Quitevis delivered 12 points with eight rebounds on an efficient 3-of-4 shooting for Ateneo.
After getting much momentum in the first two quarters, the defending champion faded in the third period with just a single field goal but managed to survive Adamson’s huge 20-4 surge.
Quitevis opened the scoring in the fourth period with a triple, but Jhon Calisay quickly responded from beyond the arc as Ateneo trails Adamson, 46-52, with 8:39 left in the game.
After huge defensive stops which forced the Soaring Falcons to commit two turnovers, the Blue Eagles were back on their feet in no time.
Matthew Montebon refused to be clamped down and unleashed a three-pointer before Jared Brown responded on the other end which knotted the game at 55-all on Ateneo’s 10-3 counter run.
Adamson then came within a single point, 58-59, following Matt Erolon’s triple off the timeout with 1:23 to go.
However, Ced Manzano missed back-to-back shots that proved to be costly in the endgame as Joseph Obasa iced the match from the line with two freebies.
Montebon was the lone bright spot for the Soaring Falcons with 13 points and four rebounds.
Adamson found itself on the brink of elimination as it slid 5-7 in the standings.
