The 42-year-old Amit fell short in the crunch and bowed to Chinese Taipei’s Wei Tzu-Chien, 2-1, while reigning world women’s 10-ball champion Centeno absorbed a similar 2-1 beating from Austrian Jasmin Ouschan.

Amit started slow to bow in the first match, 4-1, before picking up her pace in the second, 4-3, to forge a decider.

But Wei was able to regain her composure to claim the deciding frame, 4-1, to book a spot in the semis.

Centeno, for her part, had a good start with a 4-1 victory in the first match against Ouschan, but the Austrian veteran retaliated with a 4-2 win in the second to forge a decider.

The 24-year-old Centeno came through with smart shots, but eventually yielded in the pivotal match, 7-6.

A victory for Amit and Centeno could have arranged them a semis affair, but Wei and Ouschan took those berths with the Taiwanese prevailing 2-1.

Wei eventually claimed the crown after blanking Great Britain’s Kelly Fisher, 2-0, in the finals.

Amit and Centeno’s quarters finish came a day after Roland Garcia settled for the runner-up honors in the men’s division on Friday, Nov. 10.

Amit, Centeno, Garcia and Carlo Biado also failed in their bid to defend the country’s title in the Predator World WPA World Teams Championship after making an exit in the group stage.
