A man of many hats indeed, Kapamilya actor and singer Marlo Mortel seems to be enjoying student life and has set aside love life for now.

During the launch of Knowledge Channel's newest series "Heneral Tuna" at the Pedro Guevarra Elementary School in Manila last Nov. 7, Marlo shared that he has no time for any romantic relationship right now.

"Wala pong panahon talaga, kasi nga pagkagising ko nag-aaral ako tapos, nagpoproduce pa ako ng music. Then I'm gonna go back sa vlogging, and producing covers as well. Actually maraming akong nakaline up," Marlo said.

(I don't really have time, because when I wake up I'm studying and then I'm still producing music. Then I'm gonna go back to vlogging and producing covers as well. I have a lot lined up)

As a full-time multimedia student at Enderun College, the actor-singer shared his advocacy when it comes to education.

"Ever since talaga passion ko talaga yung mag-aral, since breadwinner ako sa family and hindi nga ako nakagraduate ng college kasi nga nagtrabaho ako, kaya nung pandemic nag aral ako ng certificate courses and then nung nabigyan ako ng opportunity ng Star Magic na maging scholar sa Enderun kinuha ko yun," he added.

(Ever since my passion has been to study, since I was the breadwinner in the family and I didn't even graduate from college because I worked, so during the pandemic, I studied certificate courses, and then when Star Magic allowed me to become a scholar in Enderunm, I took it)

"Heneral Tuna" is an animated series that promotes our Filipino values tantamount to our actual way of life. Each episode dials in on one of the values such as love for family, resilience, health and wellness, and faith.

Produced by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the mini-series follows the adventures of Heneral Tuna, an intergalactic cat from Planet Mingming, on a mission to visit Earth and examine its Earthlings for their plans of world domination.

KCFI vice president and director for operations Edric Calma hopes that the show fortifies the youth's identity as Filipinos through the engaging adventures of Heneral Tuna, exploring important Pinoy values and showcasing the wonders of Philippine culture.

"We warmly welcome this new partnership project with NCCA. Similar to Heneral Tuna's realizations, may we hope that the youth collectively learn about the importance of these values and how they strengthen our identity as Filipinos. We are also ecstatic to see how the seven-episode animated series showcased the unique regional culture of our country. Additionally, we look forward to the continued success of our Wikaharian partnership with NCCA which helps in teaching early reading and writing in Filipino which has already shown great promise," Edric remarked.

Likewise, the NCCA also thanked Knowledge Channel for sharing their advocacy of Filipino values formation and bringing the adventures of Heneral Tuna to more students nationwide.

"I extend my heartfelt appreciation to our esteemed partners in the Knowledge Channel Foundation and DepEd as we commemorate November as the Filipino Values Month. We proudly present 'Heneral Tuna', an animated show that helps teach Filipino values. Together, we aim to inspire and nurture a generation of young minds with the essential principles that will guide them towards becoming responsible and virtuous members of society. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to shaping the character and future of our nation," NCCA's deputy executive director for operations, Bernan Joseph Corpuz addressed.
