The local government of Manila announced on Saturday, Nov. 11, that some roads in the city will be closed on Sunday, Nov. 26, for the upcoming Asics Rock 'n' Roll (RnR) Manila Marathon.
The marathon will start in front of Rizal Park and run through the city’s historical sites, including the National Museum, Manila City Hall, Kartilya ng Katipunan, and the walled city of Intramuros.
The city government said that starting at 8 a.m. on Nov. 25 until 8 a.m. on Nov. 26, the following roads will be closed to vehicles:
- Roxas Boulevard (from Katigbak Drive to President Quirino Avenue)
- Bonifacio Avenue (from Anda Circle to Katigbak Drive)
- Katigbak Drive and South Drive
- Independence Road
- Padre Burgos Avenue (from Roxas Boulevard to Jones Bridge)
- Maria Orosa Street (from Padre
Burgos Avenue to Kalaw Street) - Finance Road (from Padre Burgos Avenue to Taft Avenue)
- Northbound Lane of Taft Avenue (from Ayala Boulevard to Padre Burgos Avenue)
- Muralla Street (from Sta. Lucia Street to Real Street)
- Real Street (from Muralla Street to Sta. Lucia Street)
- Sta. Lucia Street (from Real Street to Muralla Street)
- Quintin Paredes Street (from Jones Bridge to Ongpin Street)
The city advised motorists to take alternate routes.
