Kapuso actress Carla Abellana has finally opened up about the status of her relationship with her father actor Rey 'PJ' Abellana.

During the media conference on her newest series, "Stolen Life" at the Seda Hotel in Quezon City on Nov. 9, Carla shared that the two of them haven't seen each other for a long time.

"Hindi lang pa po kami nagkikita. Ang tagal na po naming di nagkita, pero tine-text ko po siya. Nagre-reply naman po siya," Carla said.

(We haven't met yet. It's been a while since we've seen each other, but I've been texting him. He is replying)

The actress also shared that she has been contacting her father for a while. She even sent a message during Father's Day and Rey's birthday last Sept.

"Nung dumaang father's day and birthday niya, nag tetext lang po kami sa isa't-isa," she added.

(When Father's Day and his birthday came up, we just texted each other)

When Carla was asked if she still had bad feelings for his dad, the actress highlighted that there was no bad blood between them.

“Wala naman po tampo. Kasi kung may tampo, hindi naman po siya magre-reply and ako naman po ay text-text lang po kami for now. And hopefully we’ll see each other," Carla said.

(Nothing is going between us. Because if there's something wrong, he won't reply and I'm just texting for now. And hopefully, we'll see each other) 

It can be recalled that the two were in a complicated situation in 2022 when Rey gave his statement regarding Carla's separation from his estranged husband Tom Rodriguez.

During the interview with Cristy FerMinute, Rey admitted that Carla called her, who was angry because the actor gave an interview about the reason for the breakup between her daughter and Tom.

Rey said in the interview about Tom's alleged one-night stand which was one of the reasons for his separation from Carla.

Is Carla ready to fall in love again?

Aside from being on good terms with her father, fans are also curious to find out if Carla is ready to fall in love again. 

The actress simply answered that she is focussed on taking care of herself. "Ngayon po, I look after myself. Hindi ko na po para ipagdamot yung sarili ko, kung meron po akong kailangan and ibigay sa sarili ko gagawin, kumbaga at least I have a lot of time and energy."

(Now, I look after myself. I can't beat myself up anymore if I need something and give it to myself I will do it, at least I have a lot of time and energy) 

Asked if she was open to meeting someone new, Carla immediately said that she goes with the flow whatever happens in the future. 

"Hindi ko po masasabi na open pero ayoko din namang pong sabihin na "ayoko na'' parang yung parang ganun. Kumbaga kung ano na lang po yung dumating kumbaga go with the flow na lang po," she added. 

(I can't say that I'm open but I also don't want to say "I don't want it anymore" it's like that. I guess whatever comes will just go with the flow)
