The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Friday, Nov. 10, that out of 6,456 examinees, 4,083 or 63.24 percent, successfully passed the October 2023 Physicians Licensure Examination (PLE).

The examination occurred from Oct. 20 to 21 and 27 to 28.
Justin Riley Yap Lam, an examinee from Cebu Institute of Medicine (CIM), achieved the top spot in the board exam result with an average of 89 percent.
Following closely, Miguel Enriquez Singson Roa from the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health secured second place with a score of 88.58 percent.
Meanwhile, Sean Michael Payongayong Orbigo from Far Eastern University (FEU)- Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation placed third with an average of 88.50 percent.

Facilitated by the Board of Medicine, the examination took place in Metro Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
"The result of examination with respect to one examinee was withheld pending validation of the submitted documents," PRC said in an announcement.
