
A 39-year-old man who was applying for a police clearance was arrested by Las Piñas City police after his name appeared with a pending warrant or arrest for violation of Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence against Women and their Children Act of 2004 in Pasay City.
The Southern Police District (SPD) said the Las Piñas City police reported the arrest of alias "Rick" at 8:40 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Records and Clearance Section of the police station.
According to the city police chief, Col. Jaime Santos, the suspect was immediately held after his name appeared, indicating he has three pending warrants of arrest.
Santos said Rick was nabbed on the strength of a warrant of arrest for three counts of violation of RA 9262 issued by Judge Jehan Batua Sampao-Hassiman of Pasay City Family Court Branch 11.
He said the suspect was immediately detained at the Las Piñas City police custodial facility while waiting for the commitment order from the court.
