Manila Bulletin reporter tops DOST's 'Ulat SIPAG' Awards 2023
The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) on Friday, Nov. 10, recognized Manila Bulletin reporter Glendel Nazario for his exceptional writing and storytelling on the agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR) sector.

Wth the theme, "Galing PCAARRD: Honoring People and Partnerships in AANR Innovations," the DOST-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) celebrated its 51st founding anniversary.
The "Ulat SIPAG" acknowledges the efforts of media practitioners who popularize science and technology articles through AANR science journalism.
During the ceremony, Nazario was awarded first place in the online category of the Ulat Strategic Industry Program for Agri-Aqua Growth (SIPAG) Award 2023.

In an interview, Nazario said he is more focused on doing his job as a journalist and providing people with the information they need than winning awards.
"This recognition is just a bonus," he said. He also recognized the DOST-PCAARRD for "their tireless efforts in the AANR sector.
Nazario, an alumnus of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication, joined the Manila Bulletin in July 2017.
In 2021, he placed third in the National Print Category of the "Ulat SIPAG" Award.
In 2020, Nazario also won the DOST-Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development's (DOST-PCIEERD) Kabalikat Media Partner Award.
