If it’s meant to happen, it will: Lotto patron on winning P36-M jackpot


A 54-year-old lotto patron from Nueva Ecija claimed his P36 million Grand Lotto jackpot prize, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office said on Friday, November 10.

“Pag nilaan para sa ‘yo, sa ‘yo ibibigay (If it's meant for you, it will be given to you)," the winner told PCSO after claiming his prize.

Using the birthdates of his family members, the bettor matched the Grand Lotto winning digit combination 30-17-06-12-04-29 in the Sept. 25 draw.

He also revealed that he had won three times in previous draws from the 2D Lotto games.

Meanwhile, the winner told the PCSO that he intends to use the money from the lottery to invest in business and expressed his gratitude to the agency for its charitable measures that assist needy Filipino citizens.

Jackpot prizes that are more than P10,000 are subject to 20 percent final tax under the Tax Reform Acceleration and Inclusion Law or TRAIN Law, as per PCSO.

Winners must claim their jackpot prizes within one year from the draw date, or else, these will be forfeited and become part of the PCSO Charity Fund.
