‘Generally fair weather’ expected over PH this weekend — PAGASA

The easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean will be the dominant weather system that may bring “generally fair weather” over the country this weekend, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Friday, Nov. 10

In its weekly weather outlook, PAGASA said the country may experience fair weather with a “low chance” of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms until Sunday, Nov. 12.

On Nov. 13 to 15, PAGASA said the northern and eastern parts of Luzon will experience mostly cloudy skies with rains due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan.”

Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas may also have mostly cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms due to the formation of a shear line—an area where the cold northeasterly winds and warm easterly winds converge.

The rest of Northern and Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, while the rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

By Nov. 16 to 17, PAGASA said a low pressure area (LPA) may enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), and bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to the eastern parts of Southern Luzon and Visayas.

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may also affect Bicol Region, Visayas, and Caraga due to the trough of the LPA.

PAGASA said the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains, while the rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
