The Caloocan City local government on Thursday, Nov. 9., announced the conduct of a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training program to the city’s Social Welfare Development Department (CSWDD) workers in providing Trauma Informed Care to persons in need on Oct. 23-25.

The participants to the three-day training were briefed on various strategies in offering assistance to trauma victims.
These strategies include heightened awareness of the nature and effects of trauma, the establishment of trauma-informed practices, and the enhancement of interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing trauma cases.
Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan commended the CSWDD and the participants for their initiatives in improving city services.
Because of the training you received, not only did your knowledge and capabilities improve, but also the development of the services we provide to our fellow citizens),” he said.
The city mayor also highlighted the significance of the CPD training and its impact on his administration's ongoing dedication to adopting a comprehensive approach in addressing prevailing social issues.
We understand that addressing various cases of abuse and trauma in our city is not enough through strict law enforcement alone. It is also important to prioritize programs that can help prevent such incidents, including providing care and support to the victims),” he said.
